  • Morning all, just been catching up on what I've missed over the weekend as it was our w/e to have the (OH) kids so we've been a bit busy.

Jules, I'm sorry to read about the behaviour of your outlaws, but also glad to read that your BH is on the mend and should be home soon.

Well, it's been very wet and windy here this weekend so nothing was done in either the garden or the allotment. OH ventured out yesterday to pick up some extra supplies from the supermarket and some more strimmer line, and he brought me back 2 pressies.

First one was presented to me by younger stepson - the first ripe strawberry! I cut it into 4 and we had a taste.

The second pressie was in the bag with the strimmer line and turned out to be a pair of knee pads. I think that's got to be one of the best presents anyone had ever given me and, hopefully, the bruises on my poor knees can now heal!

On the way back from taking the boys home last night, we stopped off to take a look at the lottie and managed to find 3 more strawberries ready for picking.

    • G'Moooooooooooornin' Peeps - dull and blustery here today. My back seems to be seizing up again, so I've taken one of Mr.G's cocopops but it's not touching it. Don't want to take two, as they knock me out and I have things to do.

Glad to hear Hubby's on the mend, Jules, and has found a chum. The time will pass more quickly for him if he's happy, and he'll heal better, too! Great news.

Hugs to those that need them, I'm going to get my arris in gear. Have a fab day all!

      • Glutton, I find the best approach to manage my back pain is combining an oral painkiller with a good coating of ibuleve (or something similar). The double pronged approach seems to work the best for me and means I'm not popping so many pills as to make me dopey.

          Another Monday, another week

Hope Bins has a good outcome in work and for Jules that things keep going in the right direction...

          • Morning All.....brightening out there, looking a bit more promising than yesterday. Lawn mower fixed, lawn mowed, chooks picking over the fresh trimmings.

Not going up to Bristle this morning. The BH is having routine tests so he doesn't really need me there. I'll go up this afternoon instead. My sister and BinL are going this evening - I'm going to soak in the bath. FinL has been on the phone this morning, complaining about my Dad....I just passed the phone to Dad and left them to it. Neither of my outlaws are any match for him - he's far too eloquently loquacious.

            Good luck at work, Bins.

            Coffee?

            • Just checking in, so much to read. Glad things seem to be going well for most of you.

Wet and windy here! Yay. Wet wood, not so much yay.

              • Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeevenin' Peeps. Warm here in the end, but not sunny. Kind-a weird!

Glad things are looking up, Jules! Fingers crossed Bins' day wasn't too horrific! And, for those that want to go 'Aaaaaah!' you need to go see Mikey's puppy!

Yes, Indigo, if only I could remember to buy some ruddy gel! I'm not a pill-popper by nature, but I don't do pain, so sometimes needs must. A good couple of hours hand weeding grass from under roses has actually done me a power of good, this afternoon. I've done lots of gentle stretching, and am already feeling the benefit. I'm off to Pilates shortly, but I'm not going to do the certain exercise that caused it, as it will only aggravate it, like it did last week. Really don't feel like going but I never do, and I always feel better when I come home, so I'm going!

                Be good you lot!

That's me just back from first aid class. All set to go in the new job now... Open day tomorrow with real paying customers!
When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it.
If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant.

                    • Evening All.....quite a pleasant evening too. We had a pretty sunset.

Didn't go to see the BH this evening (feeling ever so slightly guilty) but my sister has just dropped in on her way back from the hospital, and she reports that he is doing just fine. He's spent much longer sitting up today, and sat in the armchair to eat his dinner (she took him shepherd's pie made with cauli mash) and his lunch earlier - we took him soup and quickly realised that horizontal soup eating wasn't going to happen Scans tomorrow - if they are good, with much reduced swelling, he can come home Wednesday

                      Everybody alright?

                              • Best of luck Bins. They might have to spend some time staring at the ceiling themselves to come up with answers for what they did. Feral vibes going your way today.
Or tonight - both just in case!

Pouring for 3 days here. So very wet and muddied by the horses. In winter they hang near the feeding areas so it gets really bad. Have been out to feed the animals this morning, and discovered that there is apples and corn stolen around the front yard, and fences down around the back near the fruit trees. And the clothes line. I'm guessing the wombat got flooded out of his home and came up looking for a drier spot - he's a bulldozer! Lucky there wasn't more damage. And the possum would have been back for the fruit and corn

It started to rain as I went out and eased off as I came in I'll go out later and redo the chook nests, and put the fences back up. Here's hoping the chooks don't get in and have a muddy old time
