    • Its so hot out there (22 C in the shade)- come in for a cool down. I've been filling 2 wheelie bins with brambles and holly so had to wear plenty of clothes or be shredded. Meanwhile, in next door's garden semi naked men are laying slabs. It really is too much for this old biddy
      Coffi ?

      • I read that as 'slags' that was an eye-opener

        Coffi, definitely......

        • I forgot......a good Prom was had by all. Lots of girls getting off the coaches barefoot last night, I saw two girls wearing slippers, they must've had them hidden in the folds of their frocks. Very sensible!

When we took The Boy over to the school, he waved at a tiny elfin Cinderella girl in a red dress - obviously a hand-me-down as it was at least three sizes too big - she was stood, all alone in the middle of the hall, being ignored by the pretty, popular girls. I did say to him, before I left, please go and talk to that girl, she looks abandoned and nervous. I think she felt totally overwhelmed by the other girls but, to me, she looked just like a sixteen year old girl should look - very sweet and innocent, not overly made up or drowned by a fabulous gown that wears the girl rather than the other way about.

I'm pleased to say that The Boy was gallant, and they swapped tables at the venue so that he could sit next to her and they had a lovely evening together. They have known each other since primary school, but had never socialised together. Well, she's coming to tea on Sunday!

              • I thought East Anglia was supposed to be the driest part of the country Indigo. I think I'm suffering from S.A.D. (in the middle of what is supposed to be Summer)

                • Same here, RL. Thinking of buying myself a daylight lamp because without some recharging in the 'summer', I don't think I'm gonna make it through the winter.

                  • Sorry folks but I've just had to come indoors again - its 21.3 in the shade Its not sunny, just humid (if that makes you feel better)!
I don't often sweat when gardening - but I'm dripping Blood too as I've just run a big scratch down my arm on a hawthorn I've been digging out

                    • Thanks, I'll have tea, please.

I'd be surprised if it's reached double figures here today

                      • Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarternoooooon Peeps! Rode the BIG 'Orse again this morning, then got soaked walking with the Dogs.

No RL, I haven't cut it, and s*d the ruddy grass! Roxy has just tried to get under the Chook fence again, to scoff Chook poo, and got her nose zapped. Don't think she'll be trying that again in a hurry.

Glad the Prom went well, Jules. I keep seeing pics on FB of school Proms. Don't the Girls realise they all look utterly ridiculous!? OK, some of the dresses are fab, and the hair-dos, but do they really need to wear so much make-up ... ? Jeez, I'm getting old!

                            • Afternoon, well its rained here all day so the only outdoor thing has been shopping least that's over with and anyway I'd sooner go shopping in the rain than wasting a sunny day doing it. So now I'm making pearl barley soups because that's what I felt like doing, and it does smell yum.
