Just like the rest of the UK in 2012 then.

It doesn't get sunny very often, so when it does, it's like a little party
Oh don't encourage them - they've already arranged afternoon tea, coffee mornings and all kinds of GYO get-togethers before I've even viewed anything out that way!

If I had to go back to the UK it would be west Wales - I was a student in Lampeter and loved it - or Devon/Cornwall, we lived in plymouth for eight years so it wouldn't be there! But I do miss south Oxfordshire where I grew up.

New Zealand is glorious but my next foreign foray would have to be British Columbia - good fruit growing areas in Okanagan Valley. Except they won't have us!

I'd concur with Italy - Umbria or Tuscany - LUSH. Or France but that's just for my stomach

I love Italy. I'd live there tomorrow if I could. But you can't do Italy on a low carb diet. That would be sacrilege.

If we had to stay here, I wouldn't be adverse to Gloucestershire. This is the BH's idea of Heaven-on-a-Stick

Would love to live in Vancouver. If not there, then the west coast of Ireland. Absolutely gorgeous.

Well that's a good idea Taff! Can I do some time share in your houses? I won't bring the kelpie's because I woudn't be able to bring them home, but a few weeks here and there would be nice, I esp like the thought of Italy and Canada. Anyone likely to have one in the south of France?

I could do quieensland along the great barrier reef, and maybe the northern territory and you could all visit them too. Or is this tangental

I always wanted to do Early spring and Autumn on a Greek island (probably Skopelos), summer in Wales and winter somewhere warm - maybe Oz.

Well as a recent (8 years) new-comer to Wiltshire from glorious but too cool Derbyshire, I'd say there's lots of nice places roundabouts 'ere and the folk are reet friendly.

Really I'd like to be on the coast somewhere, almost anywhere south-western, quite like it down south-Devon way or the Lizard...

I've never felt the need to move about for the sake of it, I moved to this area as I got a job here 20ish years ago and stayed, subsequently met OH and a whole host of friends. If I moved without a really really good reason that meant I actually had to move then I'd miss my friends and the life that I've worked hard to create and that makes my home my home. The thought of giving up my plot is pretty bad too . Whilst there are negatives about where I am I like the fact that it's central and I can visit my less local friends fairly easily regardless of what part of the UK they live too so am glad that I don't live anywhere too remote.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

I'm happy here in Lincolnshire, decent growing soil, average weather, international motor-racing circuit, cheapish housing and good standard of living. In fact I think I'll stay here for now (and yes the lottery win properties are all round here too).

Not boasting but I've sort of got that. What I came to say was "you always have neighbours" they just start a bit further away!
