I've been trying to get one of my colleagues - who has been at the forefront of organic gardening for quite a while, to sign up and now she is here.

She has been given the moniker 'Organic Guru' and will probably not want to cause a fuss. She might not even come on here that often, but when she does - you can be sure that the advice that she gives is the stuff of much research and experience.

I'm not going to out her; or give her name - but I just wanted to let you know why that title has been given to someone so new on here.

I prefer the idea of an expert who pops in to any thread when they have something relevant to say. I think the moniker is a good way of flagging up their role on the vine which is slightly different to the rest of us.

However, I will say again that it's the advice/experience sharing with real gardeners that I have found most valuable and interesting even if it has no direct relevance to me - I'm facinated by how allotments work. I even got quite excited when I drove through Narberth the other day and saw the allotment soc' had put out a banner to advertise a vacancy! (It's 20 miles away and I don't need an allotment but I was thinking "why do they need to advertise? How sad is that? Surely there should be a queue?")

I can see this member is a "real gardener" before anyone take what I'm saying the wrong way.
