It's personal choice & I am quite happy to remove any grapes who may have 2nd thoughts. Personally, I'm more concerned who is walking behind me but that's just me............I doubt they would follow me due to info on the vine, after all, everyone thinks I'm a Gorilla..........sigpic“Gorillas are very intelligent, but they don't have to be as delicate as chimps -- they can just smash open the termite nest,”

Will do Feral,
May I just say that although I appreciate Mikeys' comments. It has all been blown out of context IMO.
The reason being as I have already said:
Locations are put on profiles
Photos are published on threads & blogs.
Photos of past grapestocks have been published along with grapes usernames.
Photos are known to be included in grapes profiles.
These are of more concern than a pin on a map.sigpic“Gorillas are very intelligent, but they don't have to be as delicate as chimps -- they can just smash open the termite nest,”

Anyway - changed my map point - I'm riding my horse out on the mountain. (Little things........)"A life lived in fear is a life half lived."

This thread was clearly started with the best of intentions by the griller but I find myself having a quiet chuckle although I do very much take the point about stalkers etc. For the avoidance of doubt, I'm not a 60+year old gardener, I could be a 25 year old female, I'm blonde with blue eyes and ermhh I'm very well endowed in the right places. On the other hand, I could be a bald but hairy arrised lorry driver with a glass eye and a twitch and some nasty habits. This is the internet. it can be a dangerous place and it is open to abuse and has been frequently abused. It is right and proper that folks should consider very carefully about what they make public about themselves and that does include where they live. As Marchogaeth says, it is also very important to take basic precautions before arranging to meet anyone. Anyone could literally be anyone but who they say they are.
As you were

Sorry BM, I'm not trying to scaremonger here, and to be honest, I'm probably as guilty as the next person.
I think its really nice to know where people come from, my only concern is that its an open forum visible to all and sundry. Perhaps I am being paranoid, but I think we probably all treat this as a happy little cafe, surrounded by like minded individuals. Its just a question of everyone else out there.
Personally I'm never concerned if someone appears to be following me, they generally are....I have a lots of fans you know.
Don't mind me.I'm only here cos I got on the wrong bus.

I fully understand where you are coming from Mikey, I was just trying to put it into context with info already published on the vine...........I'm not suggesting for one moment that grapes put there exact location..........it can be put within 50 miles, it does not really matter in the great scheme of things. It was just a fun idea that went through this hollow head of mine.sigpic“Gorillas are very intelligent, but they don't have to be as delicate as chimps -- they can just smash open the termite nest,”

I think the other post should be stickied on New Shoots with some advice and instructions. It would be quite good if it was weeded every once in a blue moon to be active members only but maybe that's getting a bit big brother."A life lived in fear is a life half lived."
