  • First day of the school holidays! No work for 2 weeks and the chance to garden whenever I want. Many other jobs to do too, but still .......

    • Just back from a week away at Jubilee House in Penrith. There was 24 hour nursing care available for Mr Frosty and we were both well cared for. Think I may have put on a few pounds with the delish food available. Also got sunburn from helping to dig out Ladies Mantle - the staff want to develop a therapy garden but the area needs cleared first. All in all had a really good time and can't thank the staff enough.

      • Yesterday I planted out some lettuces and herbs, and left them in the overnight care of the slug mob. Today they are still there :-)

        • Glad you had a good time, Frosty, and I hope you brought some Alchemilla home for your garden? Love the stuff!

            • - it's been a great sunny week on the lotty, which is really getting there now. It's not such a chore when the sun is out
              - acupuncture has finally worked for me: it's sorted out my sore elbow pretty much
              - these two always make me happy

                      • Timing -

Cat finally stretches after his dinner, gets out of his basket on the terrace and wanders off.

Less than a minute later a juvenile blackbird makes its first flight, lands on the table on the terrace, falls off the table and straight into the cat basket. After a minute or two it ambles off and joins its dad (who gives it a slug ) before taking to the air once more.

Moments later Mum cat appears from the garden and goes and sits in the basket ...

                        • Port. Relaxes the aching muscles. I've been overdoing it lately.

That post above, from PP - hilarious! Would've still been funny if I hadn't been drinking Port.
