I was given a single rose this morning at our local shop- cos it's Mother's Day here tomorrow.

How lovely was that??
It put a Huuuuge grin on my face I can tell ya!
And so , when I went to visit a friend this afternoon who had just come out of hospital I decided to give it to her....
you should have seen the huuuge grin on her face too!
Isn't it wonderful that one small rose can make 2 people's faces light up with pleasure?

Coming back from 8 days away to find triffids had replaced my tomato and potato plants. A friend stopped by and watered quite unexpectedly, we had well watered before we left. 24 peas have appeared from seed to make a sucession planting. I will be picking lettuce, radishes and my first ever peas tomorrow. I have a lot planted out this season and all are doing well

It's always nerve wracking being away, isn't it. Well done. Our hol is 19-30 June and I'm hoping all will be well then too!

A friend called round and asked if she could see our garden and potager
..panic!!!...all those weeds and how soooo far behind we are!
And so, 2 hrs later , I still know how far behind we are, but now feeling very chuffed how an 'outsider' can be so thrilled with the changes we have made since last year!
LOVE friends like that...we could all do with them
