Out for a late evening dog walk in the park with several dog walking friends - finding a green parakeet tail feather - then walking under the beech trees and being bombarded by beech husks from a huge flock of them in the upper branchesWhooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

Been offered some 'year old horse poo', in return for some veggies, sounds ok, trouble is veggies are far more 'unpredictable' than the 'horse poo'. Been thinking about how to deal with this, as is friends daughter who has horse, and think maybe she will have to have the 'veg' in advance? Good idea?DottyR

I think it would be fine to get produce in advance of the horse poo. Since you're waiting for it to age I imagine, and not for the horse to produce it?
I'm happy as we got up in a big frost this morning and Spot walked on the float first go. Had a short time at jump club and then only about 15 mins to get him back on!
Now sat on the deck with a midday glass, in the sun, with the parrots teasing the dogs by low flying nder the deck roof (over my head) and then down low near my garden. I'm expecting to wear the contents of the glass shortly - but it's too nice in the sun with just a hint of cool breeze. Won't last long.Ali

One bit of old folklore wisdom says to plant tomatoes when the soil is warm enough to sit on with bare buttocks. In surburban areas, use the back of your wrist. Jackie French
