  • The first sip.

Mr.G just got home, opened a beer, and made me a grin an' tonic. Soooooo nice after the water I've been sipping.

    • A good days work in the garden.. Nice dinner, warm fire and a glass of red ( to be followed by another...)
I dream of a better tomorrow, where chickens can cross the road and not be questioned about their motives....

          • Sleeping for 10 hours straight. No getting up to help the BH (who also went out like a light), no getting up to let cats in through the window - it was warm enough to leave the window open all night - fresh air probably helped too, no traffic noise (that I noticed, anyway) Can't remember the last time I had a completely dead-to-the-world uninterrupted sleep.

                • Having a gentle wander around our property with OH in the sunshine just enjoying looking at the flowers and buds appearing everywhere.

As a friend has given us a mature bush which the elec peeps had to dig up replacing her cables (it's huge and she's glad to be rid of it), OH and I have had a lovely discussion making plans as to where to put it and how we can extend a small flower border further into the field.
Best of all is that it means we can extend the veg plot at the same time!

                    • HA!...this shrub is really making me grin!!

I've just read that apparently it's the perfect plant to use to create a dense hedge around such places as a nudist camp!

                      • Deer like eating it, Nickers. One of my customers has one, it regularly gets stripped by Muntjac, and she won't put up a fence to stop them, just moans that it (and most of her other shrubs) don't seem to thrive!

Personally, I like it, as it gives a splash of colour, and can break up a dark area.

What makes me happy, is still finding out clever things my new Mac can do!

                        • I have another cold frame! Thanks Nic!

I have sown lots of seeds and put them in my new cold frame! And I have potted up 12 blackcurrant sticks. And .. put my mizuna outside the greenhouse to see how long it would take a bee to find it. A: About a minute and a half!
