        • We have a guest in the house tonight.

My neighbour and his partner have gone to a show in town and their dog sitter let them down.

I've a very lively, mischievous 2 year old Norwich terrier for company. Its 4 years since I lost my dog to cancer so am a very happy bunny.

          • The wind has finally dropped! Admittedly after trashing my lottie fence and gate, part of the back garden fence, 2 pea-frames and a bean frame, but hey, at least it left the polytunnel alone!

            • I was in the doctors.

The lady who runs the front desk and the pharmacy they have there - is quite petite and 'villagey'- she knows everyone, used to litter pick, is very chatty and I'd say - well - nearing or past retirement age.

I was sat waiting [ yes I was on time, no the doc was late - of course - even though I was the first appt of the day] and she was chatting to one of the patients.

'Have you heard the new Everything Everything song?'
              'No'
'Oh yes, it's great - reminds me of Alt-J'.

I nearly fell off my chair. Which would have been bad as I already have a bruised ar$e.

I started chatting and she was telling me how good BBC 4 is, and how she loves 6 music.

              I'd never have thunk it!

                              • Been to try dresses on today. Picked a 16 and a 14 up off the rack and went to try it on.
Optimisticly tried the 14 first. Looked great we thought.
Staff in changing room insisted I try the 12 which fitted and looked loads better.

                                A size 12!
