Some days it's hardly worth chewing through the restraints!
One bit of old folklore wisdom says to plant tomatoes when the soil is warm enough to sit on with bare buttocks. In surburban areas, use the back of your wrist. Jackie French

Being outside getting physical in the garden for the first time for weeks
Most of all, the birds, there are hundreds of them, so noisy and all so busy. I've been watching them in one of the big ash trees, Nuthatches, Goldfinches and others I couldn't identify because of the bright sun. Amazingly, there were butterflies too. Landing on the ashkeys then fluttering off to another spot.
The finches were pulling the ashkeys from the bunches, eating the seed and dropping the seed case to the ground. I've been standing underenath trying to catch them as they helicopter down - with some success
Kettles on again, then its back to the ash trees with my sarnies, coffi and binoculars to have a better look.
Even the squirrel made me smile today
What a glorious November day

As instructed, but I skipped the sarnie and had a lump of cheese with some windfall apples, polished clean on my jeans. Lots more on the tree too - wish I knew what variety it is as they are gorgeous - but completely out of reach
T'was actually dry enough today to go to the lottie, even if the ground was too wet to do anything constructive. Littl'uns enjoyed the outing too, and another sack of leaves added to the leafmould cage.
