Being able to sit down with a cuppa, a highlighter and counselling books and not have to think about schoolwork. There is counselling schoolwork; but we don't mind that.

son finished work,and came in with things for exmas day,it was a lovely feeling for him to be in a position to do it,as well as us receiving,awe,my baby's grown up,lump of pork,mince pies,after dinner mints,a large tiramsu,and some drink that we all partake of on odd occations,he remembered me saying i did not feel like cooking this year,bless him,

OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG......OMG I am more than a little excited here!!!!!

Cousins arrived this afternoon and in the middle of the chaos and noise, I heard a voice I haven't heard in person for about 8 years.

Aunt Margot! OMG.....! I didn't know she was coming, with the gorgeous Tom in tow, as always. They are my father's cousins but have always been Aunt & Uncle to us, and one set of my Godparents. I'd put my own cousins out on the street for this fabulous pair!!!

I didn't know you were coming? Are you passing through? No, they're here for the week!!! This is why the other cousins borrowed a motorhome. Ma has arranged this and it's the best present ever - yes, I know, I sound like a five year old, but these two are so precious. Both 85 and they've just come back from Wintery adventures in Canada. Hiking, tekking, you name it.

This is brilliant, five minutes here and Margot had organised everything, hauled the lazy arrises to their feets and got done all the jobs that needed done. No one even thinks to question a word of her crisp Edinburgh accented orders. Tom has just unpacked what looks like the contents of The Ritz Cocktail Bar.

I'm seeing daylight for the first time in 12 days, and the sun is shining! How great is that? Two whole days off work, and long shifts over for another year. Visitors have been and gone, Christmas lunch was the best, and now the whole afternoon to myself to just doze and relax. Bliss.

(1) SWMBO & myself being invited by the son and his partner to join them for breakfast this morning.

(2) Watching my grand daughters face as she opened her pressie's

(3) Returning home to a meal of home roast ham with own grown baked potato.

All in all a lovely relaxing day.
