One bit of old folklore wisdom says to plant tomatoes when the soil is warm enough to sit on with bare buttocks. In surburban areas, use the back of your wrist. Jackie French

Having someone compliment me on my children. Went for a wellie walk with my 7 year old daughter today and our dog whilst hubby and my two boys were at rugby. We bumped into one of our neighbours who is also a local councillor whilst he was chatting to some other passers by. He then proceeded to tell me (in front of the others) how despite the fact he encounters so many local children each day he thinks mine are the most polite, well mannered and respectful children he's met! I know it sounds smug but I was teary eyed with pride!
Not to mention relieved that the sounds of my playing referee to their loud arguments clearly hasn't travelled to his house!
