    • #1 Son got a full time, 9 to 5, job today!!!!

At present he works unsociable hours in a hotel, and does voluntary work for a charity and the CAB. He has resigned from the hotel, but wants to carry on with his voluntary work if he can fit it in. This new job is data and administration, so not really any contact with the public - he'll miss that.

      I'm so pleased for him!

      • Sketching, without the pressure of "having" to do it for a qualification. Just doing it for fun (it's doodling really, aka taking a line for a walk) is like meditation to me. Really relaxing, absorbing, enjoyable

        • A new lightbulb. Found some halogen lightbulbs which give light equivalent to an "old-fashioned" 100 watt bulb.

Put one in the hallway instead of the pathetic energy saving one and it's brilliant. I can see

OMG could not agree more! I can't abide the low lighting levels we have to have nowadays. I have had to install a chandelier in the kitchen so that I can see!

                              • Having 8 owners turn up in the park for the afternoon play session - 8 happy dogs romping around together in the middle of the grassy area - with the owners keeping an eye out for each other and chatting. A new dog joined us - a lovely beagle - the owner wondered if we were a dog training class. It is great to have a community come together like this.
