Can't imagine anyone daring to say that about you Sarz. My rant - looking after grandchildren on a perfectly good gardening day.

      • I had intended to reply with total abuse and a big smiley...
I know exactly what you mean Sarz. I always take it as a sign of intellectual defeat on the part of the other person.

        • I've been keeping an eye on ebay for a second hand shed for the allotment, but found out today a neighbouring plotholder has had his burnt to the ground by the local asbos. Poor man was not happy. Now I'm not sure whether I want one.

          • 1 year and 4 months after a meeting, where someone said they'll 'be in touch' and pretended to others that they had been 'in touch' they finally get 'in touch' and want help right now...

Well, sorry but I am less than 4 months to go til the end of the project, I have end of project documentation to finish, an end of project publication to script and photograph, a clay oven build to organise with 2 separate schools, qualifications to get completed and an end of project celebration event to organise with about 10 schools visiting.

            I'm kinda busy now. Innit.

                        • What's the difference between 'pan-fried' and just plain old 'fried'? None, you just say the former to try and make the latter sound acceptable. It isn't. Please just poach it the way I like it?. Or maybe you just want me to sigh and say 'I'll do it then'?! Fat chance...

                            • I drive towards the roundabout and pick the right outside lane to turn right. Bloke on my left picks the wrong middle lane to turn right which middle lane doesn't allow for.
I am vaguely aware of someone very close to me on left and slightly behind me [I can see the shape in my wing mirror] but as I'm in a van and it's my right of way and I'm in the correct lane, I carry on turning right.

I get to the petrol station and start filling up.

Bloke approaches me in petrol station and asks if I was just on roundabout. Thinking something may have fallen off my van [you know, exhaust etc] I say yes.

Did i know I cut him up?

No I didn't cut you up.....

Yes you did, I was in the middle lane and it splits into two lanes and goes right and you were in the wrong lane and didn't get into the right lane.

No, I was in the RIGHT lane, I suggest you go back and have a look at those two lanes and check out the arrows painted on the road.

Well then, I'm phoning the police

Go ahead then...and I walk off to pay for my petrol...

He shouts after me what's my name, so i tell him completely impolitely to F off. Doesn't matter he shouts, I have your number plate....

He stays on the phone gesticulating while I rumble to myself in the station, I walk back, shaking with reaction and rage, he's standing in front of my van to stop my driving off, on the phone, saying 'so you won't do anything then?'
HA! I think....then i reverse away from him and go to fill my tyres with air.

The thing is....he told me someone stopped him to tell him I was in the wrong, when i could see no-one stopped, and he was on a dual carriageway, so he had to drive ot the next roundabout, come back, and search sainsburys car park to find me.

I had a momentary doubt I might well ahve cut him up but as luck would have it, am driving back round that roundabout to visit someone anyway.

Check lines....nope, I am right, he is wrong. Dickhead. I am still wound up now and if I knew where he was would grind his damn nose into those lines so he could tell which one says straight on/right, and which one says straight on only.

P.S. sorry about your toothache VVG
