  • Thanks Rusty, I've popped it in a water bottle to take it home. Just remembered I've been summoned for Jury duty so might not be at work on Monday.

      • Bladdy weather. Dark and cold all day, and now it's persisting.

        • People with a chip on their shoulder. (Ok, people other than me, that is! )

This one is paid extra, to do extra, but always turns up late, so other folk have to do the job. Then, when he does actually do something, it's half a job, mess and tools everywhere, and nine times out of ten, someone else then has to go fix it all, and tidy up. (He's biding his time until his wealthy (and very hard-working) Father, pops off and leaves him a big fat inheritance, so he's just not interested in being a useful member of society. )

Why don't you just sack him ffs!? It's Friday evening, my Husband doesn't work there any more (other than the odd few hours when they're stuck for staff), and he's had a beer, so NO, HE'S NOT GOING TO TURN OUT!

          • I am stuck at work supervising the installation of 8 desks. I COULD HAVE BUILT 8 FECKING DESKS IN FOUR HOURS BY MYSELF (well nearly) and there's bloody four of the buggers. The gaffer estimates another hour yet. Its like watching bloody treacle.

and I've been sent the wrong parts again... GAAAAAAHHHH

I have broad beans in the car that need planting....

            • Don't call and say "I haven't seen you since Monday!" I cut the apron strings a few decades ago. Remember!? If you want something, just ruddy ask. OK!?

The answer's "No" anyway, so booger off and do whatever it was, yourself.

              • Just people. And how much rubbish some of them come out with and the ease with which it is swallowed by others.

                • Somehow, the three sections of carpet got separated when we emptied the caravan for floor repairs. Mr.G puts two in a safe dry place, I could only find one, so I bunged it in my shed. How come, now I've managed to reunite all three, is my piece still clean and dry, and his two have mould on!?

                  • Have woken up today coughing and spluttering, with a ruddy dose and a sore throat. Ditto The Boy. The BH is as grumpy as a bear who's been kicked in the fork....usual pain plus a nasty dose of oral thrush, mouth all swollen etc, a complication of his diabetes, which flares up far too often.

What a bunch we are, to be sure

So all of the day's plans have gone out of the window and I'm trying to read Arthur Ransome's Peter Duck instead.

                    • people who ride horses on main road, A39. Riding 2 abreast on a 60 mph 2 lane road.
Surely you should be wearing light/florescent clothes and a hard hat.
I love horses and dont want to hit them.

Long time ago, but we were advised to rIde two abreast and ideally in a block of four as then traffic couldn't try to squeeze through but had to treat us like another vehicle. No excuse for the rest, especially the hat.

My rant - forecast to be 5 tonight (last time they said that it was 1) so everythig is fleeced against the cold, giving the slugs free rein amongst the (remaining) peppers, aubergines, chillies.... Its MAY. Nights were warmer than the current daytime temps this time last year

Try them in tempura batter.....lovely, and not quite so strong.

Rant: Still feeling grotty. Ditto The Boy and he has two exams tomorrow. The only student in the school with clashing exams - English and Critical Thinking. He must sit one after the other in seclusion, with only a thirty minute break. I don't envy him, but he tells me he will be fine.

English Lit followed by Chemistry for mine. We are watching Hitler together afterwards, just for light entertainment as we have that and Physics - two B2B papers soon after.
