  • OMG.....should The Boy being doing Chemistry too? BH on the phone as I type. It might possibly be a different exam board, but I think we need to clarify.......because this kind of carp happens every year at exam time.

    • Absolutely astounded to discover that the 'Community Governor' at the primary school where I run the gardening club has decided to write to the allotment association asking for 'donations of veg plants for the gardening club to grow or sell', without speaking to me at all?! WTF?! I have 2 greenhouses half full of plants that gardening club have sown 'to grow or sell', I have over 100 bedding plants that I'm shifting in and out every day to plant up school pots and tubs and to sell the excess. We have a blowaway full of module trays of seedlings, and yet more in the school tunnel. I say again: W. T. F. F.?!!!!!

Don't know. We are at GCSE level and AQA. Dependent on the examining board.
Haven't the school supplied an online timetable?

Rant - half way through and I wish I could do this one for him. I don't know whether I want a faster clock for me, or a slower one for him.

          • Turn up to my hospital appointment today for a tilt table test which my cardiologist referred me to 'urgently' to find it was cancelled on Friday due to staff shortages. I have to wait a month for the next appointment which as the B***h on the phone told me it is still three days before my follow up cardiology appointment. What she doesn't seem to realise is I've been referred to a different hospital for a second opinion which is in two weeks. So I will have to rearrange that one too and then I am just left waiting for weeks and months. It's already been a year and I'm still not closer to knowing what the hell is wrong with me.

SO much for my holiday relaxing me...

Edit: Just rang JR to see if I needed to rearrange my appointment and they told me the reason my test was cancelled was due to the test being suspended due to the machine being damaged and somebody getting unwell... Why do hospitals lie to you?

"Hi, I won my item on Friday, please can you tell me why I haven't received it yet?"

Good grief....it's Monday. Royal Mail aren't that good, I'm sorry.

                • This has been my undoing this afternoon. It's terribly, terribly, sad, so don't look if you haven't got tissues.

We've been there. Those people had it worse.

                  • Came in to have a rant about someone who is a bit of a kn*b but it seems rather insignificant after Jules' post. I couldn't even look through it all. Big hugs Jules xx

                      • Thanks SH & G4.

Kinda wished I hadn't read that, but it doesn't hurt (stoopid choice of words) to get the tissues out and remember. My heart goes out to those who had loved, who knew that person so well, and lost them. We never had that time.

Anyway, I'm ranting; big box of strawbs, only bought today, all mouldy in the middle under the sticky label where you couldn't see. Taking them back tomorrow. I was really looking forward to those and I paid out extra for English.....

                              {{{{{{{drum roll}}}}}}}}}

                              Bristol Eye Hospital

BEH have decided to operate their Retinal Clinics from their Optical Casualty Department.

We had an 8am appt, and turned up five minutes early. Please take a number and wait for the nurse. Ok. So we sit and wait for an hour. And another hour. Finally, the BH gets called by the nurse, she does field tests and administers pupil-dilating drops. Please take a seat in the waiting room for twenty minutes. An hour and a half later we get to spend five mins with the eye specialist, who says that the extra floaters in the BH's eyes are a nuisance but nothing serious, they aren't clogging the retinal drains.

Why did it take so long? Because every eye casualty gets seen before a booked appointment - they rightly have priority because they are, after all, casualties. We left people sitting there facing another few hours wait as two doctors knocked off for lunch. They won't be seen until those doctors come back as the one remaining doctor had his hands full with casualties.

Before we leave the doctor says to us that should the BH notice any further changes, don't worry about a referral from our GP, just turn up and take a number.....it's quicker this way.

                              Brilliant BEH.....just brilliant.
