  • I was going to rant about the toothpaste tube always being squeeze from the middle.
The batteries coming to the end of their lives in the remote and having to 'roll them' to work.
Cold tea bags left on the chopping board and leaving a staine.
The velcro on my sandels coming away
The dog barking at the wind moving a blade of grass.... "shut-up Eric".

But instead, wishing Jules other half a speedy recovery, for god sakes man, its dangerous in the garden, watch gardeners world instead. I like Monty, i think him and i could have a pint together and fix the world.

    Jon :-D

    • Only once have i achieved standiing in the toilet....(Wait for it) ..... and watered into a bucket, its quite an odd thing to do. I used a black bucket, so as not to give the game away to the neighbours, oh that reminds me, one side we have 'the smokers'.... They really FISH me off!!!! They go outside for a ciggy and the smell and smoke waffs over into our garden, where we have patio doors, the decking outside and the bedroom window upstairs...... Not impressed, plus i got 2 littleuns @ 5 months old....obviuosly were not smokers. I might start throwing fish poo over (with the water of course)..... Have you tried just throwing fish poo, very difficult. Thats sure to get a response. Keep calm Jon, keep calm, so any way i dont remember to take/ place a bucket into the toilet or bathroom. So when nature does call. Im torn between going outside to retrieve a bucket (busting as i am) or think sod it i need to go now. Im not brave enough to lift the top of the compost and water, mind you be bloody good skills to aim upwards and try aiming, id be like a cute water feature ( flutters eye lashes).

        • Well, I'll tell you what has got my goat today - ME!!

I have been Mrs fastidious with all my Challenges to date; and this week's has been the MOST CHALLENGING OF ALL - for me at any rate. .

So here I am, buggering about in the garden with a compass at 4.45am this very morning smugly completing my challenge, and do nip on to the Vine to stick a quick post on for posterity?

No, I do not. What a daft 'un I am.

          • A person on a travel forum telling people to get the flooding in the Hautes Pyrenees into perspective. Apparently it isn't a disaster as the grotte at Lourdes has reopened and lots of people are helping with the clean up. Well, there was a lot of mud.

Meanwhile the army are trying encourage the rivers back to their old routes so they can start to rebuild the roads and bridges; towns have been evacuated, villages are cut off, livelihoods, homes, communities, wildlife has been destroyed and the dead are being buried. But we can all go and pray again, so that's ok.

            Sorry, I'm angry.

            • Pin numbers: 3 phone calls, one complaints letter and none of them have told me anything sensible.
I have two pins numbers turned up now - haven't been able to activate the one that arrived first as the local hsbc machine wasn't working when I went. So which one do I use?

              We will be changing banks.

              • Going in to the hospital this morning, then taking the rest of the day to catch up on jobs that were desperate but only because my Out Laws said they would go in today, and take the BH's chicken salad lunch. They collected the lunchbox at 11am. Three pm and the ward sister phones to find out where the BH's lunch is. Phone calls to outlaws - they have gone shopping in Bath instead, they won't make it to Bristle, 'terribly sorry and all that, they got a bit distracted'

A salad lunch was ordered from the hospital kitchen for the BH, although half of the plateful was a huge piece of French bread and he couldn't eat it, but they were brilliant at the last minute.

I completely lost it with the out laws. Selfish, selfish, beggars.

Just going to have a quick snack then go to see my beloved. Hopefully he will be home on Wednesday.

                        • Have £15 worth of vouchers for a well known and if not well loved mail order seed and plant supplier. Nothing I really need but £15 is £15. Have spent half an hour adding to my shopping bag only to find one voucher is not accepted. Is in date unless there was a time slip. Ring customer services - no-one there. Grr. Now 40 minutes later and I've abandoned. Well that was a waste of my time.

and yes I did phone and complain just like we've done before....

Ok, Mrs Smug Features - did you really think it was a good idea for your poor middle-aged muscles for you to run a reasonable distance, weed for a couple of hours, sit down in a pub for half an hour, then run quite a bit again?

Give me a bow and I'll give you a high C on my tight hamstrings.
