Minor Rant Thread - Part 8

So not looking forward to tomorrow. This long weekend has been constant phone calls, texts or visits from the sister about stickers. Why can't we print out or buy stickers for the topiary bushes, buckets of flowers, milk bottles and cat we're supposed to be painting on this street scene?

We aren't being paid a lot of money to do that. We are being paid to do a professional job. Don't complain that you 'aren't a painter and decorator, you're an art teacher' and then also complain that I won't let you use stickers, I think we should paint the objects properly as expected. You have told them you are an art teacher (not a LSA who sometimes supervises art classes) so don't be surprised that they think an art teacher can draw & paint or that they have asked you to do just that.

Do not spend your day bemoaning these facts to me tomorrow. I will be busy. Drawing & painting.

A thoughtless husband who is in hospital and rings me at 9 pm, when I have just got home from visiting and tells me he is in a LOT of pain. I till him to call the nurse. He says he can't see one. I tell him that this is why he has a call button. All this conversation is interspersed with awful moans and groans. The phone goes dead.

I don't sleep!!!!!

In the morning I text him.

No reply!!!

I text again.

No reply!!!

Eventually he texts me. A wonderfull nurse had sorted out his problem when he put the 'phone down on me and he had immediately fallen asleep- Ok I can accept that; but why was it more important the next morning to have his breakfast and then go and have a wash and shave, leaving his 'phone by the bed, than just let me know that he was ok. Did it not occur to him that I would be worried?

Program the nursing station number in to his phone when you next visit.

A well know high street electrical outlet that offer "free delivery" then want to charge you £20 unless you're willing to wait 3 weeks.

Reeeally not amused to wake up with bone-dry sinuses and throat, only to find that the central heating is roaring away. At 3am. Apparently, we have to pay to heat the whole house, and boil all of the other inhabitants in their beds, just because the OH is sat up late and felt a bit chilly... Tough titty pal, put a ferkin' jumper on, or go to bed!

Double standards.

Toerag that slashed my polytunnel. Hadn't check the damage which is obvious from the road until today.
Wasn't too sure to start with if it was just wind that had done the damage but then noticed the gable end which is pleated has slashes part through the pleats. Several slashes down 4 separate panels and the polythene in the door has been cut out. Broken beer bottles lying in the tunnel. Two plastic slug pellet containers emptied and a 5ltr container of j*e*y*e*s fluid emptied out as well. Plot gates padlocked so whoever did it musta gone in the hard way. Taken me all morning to repair 3 panels and now run out of repair tape. I'm so spitting feathers

Had similar done to my greenhouse before AP, it's horrible. Huge commiserations from me x

And that'll be my rant too. Barstewards with no respect for other people's hard work and property

Thanks sweetie . Cover has been on for 10 years this year so it was on borrowed time anyway but I'm not recovering until my Court saga is finalised.(Back in Court on 23rd of this month).

My second rant echoes yours. I could accept weather damage but vandalism moves me to bad language beyond the level of minor rant
