First day back at school. Was given new laptop before holidays as old one took 40 minutes to turn on. New one spent first hour of the day crashing. Blue screen, the works. Borrowed one from our student for the morning, tried mine at lunch time stayed on but won't talk to my whiteboard or the internet. However I can print !! Spent about half and a hour over lunch and after school trying to fix. No go. IT support, no he's left and the powers that be haven't decided how to replace him. In the mean time it's sort yourself out, oh and if you could deliver a high quality education to 30 children at the same time that would be great. Will be writing on board tomorrow, and for foreseeable future.
Icing on the cake was head delivering a new child to my class, which I had asked if she was starting but head was on holiday, like the rest of us who were on "holiday" doing are work so didn't read or respond to my email. Poor girl nothing ready for her, looks really bad.
On the plus side the children were as good a gold and one brought me a slice of lemon drizzle cake!

Sky. How carp are they?
They're swapping the email over to Yahpoo. In the process they've lost all of my saved email (the ones they promised would be safe, we didn't need to, indeed couldn't, back them up) and now they've lost the emails being sent to my Blackberry. They've totally cocked up POP and IMAP.
I am not getting emails left, right and centre - not unless they're bl**dy promotional emails from Sky and Yahpoo - the ones I specifically said I didn't want.......Jules
Coffee. Garden. Coffee. Does a good morning need anything else?

Had the energy adviser to look at what we were using that caused us to have a huge electricity bill.
He said that with no heating, cooking or lighting we are paying £570 a year just with the tv on standby, phone chargers plugged in, laptop plugged in, freezer and fridge running.
£570 a year!!!!

Ah, but you won't have the necessary administrator rights to do it yourself.
Went back today to find the kids had not picked up some online homework I had set over the holidays and which was the basis of my first double period today...
