Chuffin' galeforce wind.........more bricks and paving slabs in the blowaway than plants and its in a shelterd spot.....OH has had to go out and do running repairs on fence that looks in danger of breaking before Jake visits next door and scares the carp out of Granny...... think we've just entered March .......

The surgeon told my husband on Saturday that he would be coming home from hospital on Monday. On Monday morning somebody came to check that he had someone who would be able to pick him up and would not be on his own when he got home. He didn't have any drips to take out, they weren't waiting for test results so why didn't they discharge him until after eight at night? All he did was sit on his bed all day, bored, (no working TVs) and fret that someone was going to change their mind and keep him in.

So fed-up, got to lottie to find my gate hanging off and half the fence down and can't even afford the £6 it would take to buy 2 new fence posts. All those people who rant on about a life of luxury on benefits ought to bloody try it, that's all I can say. *weeps

My rant... I think it had been said before but there should be a dislike button on the rant thread.

Sorry to chat but my son had a summer job with a Grounds Dept last year and got hold (with permission) of a pile of old tree stakes (fence post sized - mix of round and square) that were going into skip. Might be worth approaching your local parks dept or also grounds dept of NGOs that have a lot of land e.g Universities, Heritage Organisations etc (Often a quick word with an actual worker has more results than a phone call to the office, who'll just say no outright).
