  • Seahorse I knew a gas engineer who worked for Eon, they are not under paid, £700 to £800 per week. But they are put under so much stress by the company and being on the front line take all the flak from the customers he left after less than 2 years.

    Rant, bladdy rain won't stop.

    • I try really hard not to shout at the folk on the front line. It's rarely their fault. This rant is on their behalf.

              • Son was telling me yesterday, he saw a woman who was parked on one side of the road, pull out and do a uturn (illegally as it's double yellow lines, because its just out of the roundabout) hits a motor bike who has just come thru the roundabout, knocking him off his bike onto the road..........and she pulls over.
So she can get out and inspect her car WTF? Apparently the bike rider was ok, and picked himself up, but who does that?

                • Hi Mum! I thought you'd like to know the results of my brain scan!

                  WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

#2 Son has been for brain scan after losing the use of his left leg for about twenty minutes following a very sharp pain in his chest. The chest pains aren't new - they've been investigated twice and put down to 'growing pains' and #2 is monitored carefully because there is a history of heart problems and aneurysms. He tells me the 'connection problem' they've discovered is, in all likelihood, responsible for his dyspraxia and dysgraphia, but it is a minor thing and won't cause any him any concern (no, but it is causing his parents HUGE concerns) and he will probably grow out of it.

BUT it still remains that he has been through all this hundreds of miles away, by himself - although one of his tutors has been keeping a close eye on him.

#2 is all smiles and happy laughter, and says he didn't want us to worry. I could kill him. Thank God he's ok. His father & I are fit for nothing, brains are just reeling with shock.

                  OMG I need a drink.....and I'm not a drinker.

                  • I never thought that I would have occasion to moan about Wilko.

But then again, I never thought that they would 'rationalise' their brewing section such that although they continue to stock all the pots of citric acid/stabiliser/camden tablets/yeast nutrient/pectolase etc etc; for some bizarre and unfathomable reason, they have stopped stocking pots of brewing yeast.

Terrible to hear. I am not a dog person really but it's the owners who have made me like that.

                        • Having spent most of my birthday money on everyone else, I was chuffed to get a garden centre giftcard from my sis on Saturday. Just looked up the nearest GCs that will accept it, and find that the nearest is over 10 miles away, and I haven't got enough petrol. Utterly fed up with this sh!t now.
