  • The garden is a running river again. But we've got off lightly - homes, roads and bridges have been destroyed in the valleys either side of ours. In Lourdes the water is up to first floor level.

              • Glad you're OK, PP.

Ah - look at the time! I was going back out to do a short job. Looks like I'll be doing it tomorrow now.

Only started two short jobs here, and the time has flown!

                • Slug got onto the anti slug shelving and ate a third of my melon plants and half my crown prince pumpkins.
Could be worse - guys in Bareges have had their hotel washed away. Awful.

                    • Neighbours who throw down metaldahyde slug pellets 20 to a square inch. Right by the bit where our garden is open to their's. We have a dog - does that not mean anything? OK so I've chopped your nasty bush back off my garden, well hacked actually and need another fence panel

                      • Totally fed up with this faery.

I have a hospitalised husband. He went flying over the lip on our French windows and landed on his head & face. He's been in hospital since the 14th, he has intracranial pressure and was badly concussed, unconscious for 46 hours. On top of that there was swelling in his lower spine, where he has four permanent slipped discs, and there was concern about paralysis. Today he has finally satisfied doctors that he has as much feeling in his feet as he ever did, and he's gotten out of bed and walked to the bathroom by himself, just leaning on me.

My parents have descended to 'help' but I'm spending the little bit of time that I'm here showing them where everything is......just ask a grandson, ok? They will help, they're good like that.

#1 Son & I spend nearly all day in the car going back and forth to the other side of Bristol with meals for the BH, who cannot eat the diabetic diet the hospital recommend -it equates to approximately 330g carbs a day, and put his BSL up to 14mmol yesterday - it was lower than that on the initial diabetes diagnosis last year.....

I am totally knackered and haven't slept in a week almost. I look and feel like Death. Oh yeah, some idiot has pranged our new car in the hospital car park. They drove off but the Hospital have provided details from their cctv to the insurers. And my laptop is confetti as that's what the BH was carrying when he went over the sill. I am currently using his laptop.

And one of our cats has had to be PTS. I found her wreathing on the drive on Monday night - the vet says it was probably an adder bite.

Enough already. The Sh!t Faery needs to take a h!ke....

I can't think of anything that I can say or do to make things better for you but if a ((((cwtch)))) helps I have those aplenty. I hope and pray that your husband is soon well enough to come back home and your lives regain some normality. Look after yourself too xxx

Sorry about your Puddy-tat, too, good job you found her and speeded things up. Car and Lappy, well, they're not as important in the grand sceme of things, I know, but still upsetting and expensive.
