  • ((HUGS)) Hon - some people just can't help themselves. I have some in my life, too. You just have to pity them, to be honest.

My rant - our Broadband speed is driving me up the ruddy wall. Today, it is slower than dial-up. So, on that note, I'm going to turn the ruddy thing off and be productive...

    • My allotment neighbour, treated his plot with weed killer! Rather than cut down the weeds, and dig/ clear the ground, like the rest of us. This will our 3rd year of having the plots. Today I took a couple of pics. What do you all think to this?. , ]

      • Does he do this every year? He's left it awfully late if he is expecting to plant anything. My new neighbour is a very 'interesting' chap!

        • If it's not in your rules not to weedkill then there's not a lot you can do it. We have several plots which are clear of weeds but haven't planted anything. I long to ask what they want an allotment for. I'm not talking about newcomers either. One plotholder last year spent a fortune on very expensive raised beds but to date has planted three runner beans. Another chap has had him plot a year, hasn't weeded or planted anything. He's one were chasing. Meanwhile I've got winter brassicas waiting for a home.

          • Last year he planted some seeds, but we sadly watched we the courgettes turn to marrow and then just rot, artichoke's were beautiful last year, but never harvested. Heartbreaking for the rest of us!

This is the first year he just sprayed it all with weed killer, and this was beginning of May! Thought e was gonna come back and clear it! He has I know had letters from ' allotment man', and has maybe started to rake it a bit.!

Wondered if the 'damage' I.e. chemicals could 'blow/wash across to my plot? Or others?

            • Grass is not an allotment crop. And not when someone else is doing the cutting for you either.

              • Well, it's taken me three attempts, and numerous re-starts to get my on-line shopping done. Is it the hub, the connection, or what!? Drives me nuts!
