76 was one of the hottest summers on record if I recall correctly but I do remember there was a couple of inches of hailstones on 31st May. My daughter was born on 8th June that year.

76 - the year of the drought & petrol ration books & the national 55mph speed limit also the year I attempted to patent a high speed cooling system all you need is :an open face crash helmet,a pair of cut-down Levi's,a motorcycle capable of doing the ton & a long straight dual carriageway not a public highway obviously

Don't remember the ladybirds but the drought was "interesting" Don't think there were many slugs/snails because everywhere was so dry.

I was born at the very end of March in the 1950s in Barnsley, Yorkshire in, according to my mother, a snowstorm and I would say that in more years than not there has been snow on or after my birthday here in Yorkshire, even if only a small amount. It's looking likely again this year.

                  What happened to global warming??????

I've been waiting (in vain) for the mediterranean climate to spread north for these last few years.

Last year the weathermen tried to scare us to death predicting a terrible drought.

I now treat any long range weather forcasts in the same way I treat horoscopes; If it sounds good great otherwise ...............well just how gullible do you think I am?

Just looking through some old photo's, we had lots of snow this time last year after the week of fantastic sunshine.
