I've got to go visit Dad later and he has been transfered to a hospital on the other side of the city, not looking forward to the drive in this snow.

I got caught on the M42 today - there had been an accident and it's the only logical way to get to where I needed to be - after an hour I turned back. Just been in the greenhouse with my new toy [a soil cube maker] to sow some pea seeds and can't feel my fingers. It's not this cold during the Christmad season! ENOUGH ALREADY. I've given up.

We're drowning here. Its now been raining over 24 hours with driving icy rain. The forecast is for more of the same with no end in sight.
Had a new washing machine delivered this morning and a grumpy guy to fit the new bedroom carpet. They were absolutely soaked.
What an awful day to have anything done.

My sister has one...looks to me like a tool for even more efficiently covering the floor in compost.

Apparently she has yet to work out the proper compost consistency.

We had horizontal snow at home this morning after a miserable night of howling wind. The OH was complaining that the snow was actually painful, it was blowing so hard. I was too busy fighting to keep the car door open and my hat on to notice.

Mr Frosty and I left yesterday to go Arran for a few days and now we are back home. Arran lost electricity across the island over night and is still without power. We managed to get on the last ferry to leave today, a big thank you to the staff of CalMac, we were the last people to exit the ferry (Mr Frosty was trying to walk, does not do the wheelchair bit well). The staff were frozen solid but were still really helpful. Oh, first coffee of the day 4.15 this afternoon! Blizzard galore. Good thing we were both wearing good gear - I love soft shell trousers. Time for more coffee, cheerio.

Just to keep on track the wind hasn't died down here yet. Everything looks really blowy on the allotment but nothing has blown away yet!
