Mine is in the spare wheel well, with the spare wheel, under the rear floor, under the rear floor mat, under my boot-liner. Then, depending on what I'm planning on doing at t'other end of the journey, it is either under my tools, or under the dog bed, under the dog!
It can ruddy stay there - if it goes in a ditch, I'll leave the ruddy thing there and buy a Land Rover!

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

They are mainly fitted to modern vehicles with plastic type bumpers. You will find a round cap in the bumper and the 'screw eye' is usually with the car jack. No VC that jacks a tool not a bloke.
