As I understand it, the Planning Inspector has upheld the council's decision that the property should be demolished since it was constructed without planning permission. However, the council will consider a retrospective planning application for the house on the merits of the case, as they would have done if the application had been submitted in the first place.
Oh, I do hope that's good news. It isn't like it doesn't fit. I couldn't quite understand the chap's reluctance to get PP in the first instance - the house does fit with it's surroundings, it does fit with other buildings close by. Why did he think he wouldn't get permission before he started to build?
