I certainly wasn't aware the was a problem with carcinogens with any washing up liquid. Why don't these things get made public. I suppose the argument is that it's a non issue because most folks will rinse off the suds but who knows. Hope the mods don't think we're tangentising this thread. This is a serious issue

I suspect that it's not widely known as it is a case of the degree of risk.

If, for example, using Fairy Liquid caused you to develop cancer - full stop - it wouldn't be in the shelves. However, if there is a slightly heightened risk of - say - people who are predisposed to developing cancer by being immersed in neat Fairy Liquid constantly for twenty years, that is something else.

After all, by taking the original premise that Fairy Liquid contains carcinogens so we shouldn't use it and it's a scandal that it's on the shelf; so does alcohol (i.e. you are at a higher risk of certain cancers if you drink).

I will therefore drink in moderation to balance the increased risk of developing cancer with the lifestyle choice of enjoying a glass of wine every now and again, and wash up in moderation too!

Don't get me going on that - I also can't by a card for Mothering Sunday if it has anything other than 'Mothering Sunday' on it. Can't buy cards 'with sympathy' on them either - not sure why.

I'm not taken in that easily, which is why when I was faced with a shelf full of carpet cleaning products at Wilko at lunchtime, with no real idea which one I should go for, I went for OzKleen Carpet Power.

I use Fairy .....I am also known to have a drink or two and partake in the evil practice of smoking ...but I could also get run over by a bus (especially in Cov's open spaces ) ......I also couldn't bring myself to buy this even though it probably does as it says on the tin (well packet).....
