There's a cordless drill here, Shen, and several corded ones, and handpowered ones...........But anything "powered" scares me. One day I'll be brave and try it....
I will not be trying the chain saw, circular saw on saw bench or jigsaw - not until I'm much much braver

Sorry, just noticed the last page of the thread.

      Good effort VC.

I got a decent enough cordless drill / screwdriver for 12 quid at B+Q, which does me fine for building stuff, putting up shelves.

        That's an excellent job VC.
Don't think mine would have looked that good.

If I can do it without nails, anyone can do it with nails
Just hope mine hasn't fallen apart by tomorrow

The bed with no nails is still standing and has turned into a Square foot bed (actually more of a 22" not quite square bed with a wobbly middle ) and a chicken wire duvet with extension

Apparently a pallett a day is enough to keep a Rayburn burning throughout the winter! (Not a lot of people know that)

Thanks for that Snadge - I'll try stuffing one in the Aga and see what happens
For me, its a pallet a day helps you work, rest and play

I may have to cobble together another one

Some advice about Cordless drills required please!
I put the battery on charge - but its not charging. The red light stays on and there's no life in the battery when I tried it. It hasn't been used for 8 years so is it a write-off?
Just when I've worked up the courage to use it - its defunct

How long did you leave it charging for? Was it - is it still in the drill -if so take it out and see if there is any corrosion -leaks - white mouldy looking bits.

After 8 years it is probably as dead as a dodo

Thanks Both. It was all neatly packed in its carrying case. - not on the drill. It says 3 hours recharge but it was on for at least 6. On Goggle there are ways to jumpstart a dead battery but I'm not sure I'm up to that
So I now have to decide whether to buy a new battery, a complete new drill kit or live without it as I have for the last 8 years

Hey VC, I think Lidl had drills as their special recently...might be worth checking..
