We planted a rooted Christmas tree two years ago and its been growing well with new growth in abundance. However a month ago we noticed what seemed to be soot covering a lot of the tree and the needles were turning brown and dropping off, where each branch joined to the main branch there is a black ball. I have attached a photo of the problem can anybody help please.http://www.growfruitandveg.co.uk/grapevine/images/smilies/confused.gif
