Oh, most of my floors are wooden... perhaps I'll give them a quick sand over the next week.
I'm only here cos I got on the wrong bus.

Make sure you get rid if all the potential splinters Mikey. Mibbe a coat of wax will help
When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it.
If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant.

I thought I might wax me rather than the floor, maybe a bit of polyurethane varnish too. Negate the need for wiping.

I suggest you wear a frock too, and no underwear Fiddling with zips when your hands don't work can slow you up a bit

I was booked in to have the surgery a couple of years ago but about a week before I was due to have it done the numbness and pain and inability to hold even a knife and fork vanished! I cancelled the op and have hardly any trouble anymore. I wore the wrist supports for a few months when it did come back for a while the winter before this one but so far I have been fine. I wish yours would go away but if I was in so much discomfort, pain and had so much difficulty holding things again I would go for surgery without hesitation.
I couldn't fasten a bra, pull my knickers up, put tights on or any of those personal things. It was desperately painful and I felt exasperated most of the time and felt very dependant on others. My daughter used to have to cut up my food and help me to dress.
My lovely young man bought loads of anti arthritis aids and heated wrist supports and hand and shoulder warmers and I just cant believe that it suddenly got better. I'm glad it did but don't understand how come!
Good luck and I hope you heal and feel the benefits sooner rather than later.
                  Lynne x

Practical advise vc, I'll go get some trackies. I've never been any good at undoing bras wizzbang. I've enjoyed practising, but I doubt surgery will improve my ability in that department!!

Tell you a useful tip for undoing zips when you have no grip (no good for bras though )
Get one of those metal/plastic double-ended paper tags (? banker's tags) and put it through the zip tab. You can feed that between your fingers and don't have to use your fingertips for grip. I devised that for myself a few years ago when I couldn't do much for myself
                      Nah, you won't need it

I hope its gonna be warm, I think I'll spend the week in my alltogether. I cant cook so there's no danger of burning anything. Just hope the postie doesn't have a parcel requiring a signature.

Don't worry about the cooking, there's no danger of you eating much either
A big spoon and a bib, or a straw should do it!!

Well, I'm now 5 days post op.

As you can see I'm typing again, I don't have a grip worth toffee, but I'm glad I did it. Apart from the pain I've slept like log for the last few nights. No more waking up with dead hands.

I didn't like being awake through it and I wish I'd not watched the you tube video beforehand. My mind was telling me exactly what the surgeon was doing even though I expressly asked him not to tell me what he was doing. (Listening to him ask the nurse for a what ya ma call it, no not that one its blunt!! was a bit off putting mind!!!!)

You'll be back to normal in no time, Mikey. Just rest up, don't over do it and it'll heal quickly enough. Yeah, I know it's boring, but......
