Is there anything more magical than watching seeds germinate. I swear I could actually see my beans sprouting in the greenhouse today. Each time I went back in they were another few millimeters bigger. It's like watching natures's magic show.

It really is magical, checked on my squash at least 4 times today as they went from just peeping through the soil to the first leaves fully open. Unfortunately when I got to the allotment and checked the area I weeded yesterday more had magically appeared there!

It is absolutely magical. ~but I think it may be slightly addictive. I seem utterly obsessed with sowing seeds at the moment, and am sure it is just to get that thrill of seeing the small green shoots pushing through the compost. The sweetcorn are growing almost fast enough to see. (If the family can't find Mum - you can guarantee I will be looking at the seedlings

As for the Sabrina Slug, I wonder if we should rename her satanical Slugsy - I believe she was conjoured up by something less than magical!!!

Remember the famous illusion of sawing the lady in half ? A lot of Grapes have perfected it. They saw Sabrina in half every night - and the following night she is back in one piece again. Now that's what I call Magic

I too have turned into a complete sad case. I've been standing in the greenhouse staring at plant pots. There was a time in my life when I would have laughed at people like me.

First thing I do in the morning (almost) is to look in the propagator to see what has emerged overnight. So exciting when there's a new green shoot. We have a little chat - Hello, how nice to see you. Would you like to come out and sit on the table for a while.....etc" Sad, mad............who cares?

I totally understand !! (ps my hubby is a therapist and states we are all beyond help) I am quite happy to be under the spell of the greenhouse; and there we are, back to the magic again.

Sad, mad but blissfully happy in the knowledge that we can grow things

When you see a fast growing seedling like a squash or a bean change from a dry little seed into a vibrant green thingy within a few days, and know that, without your help, that wouldn't have happened, that is when I feel like a Magician - or even something greater. We hold within our hands the power of life - we can choose some seeds from the packet and leave behind others. I wonder how the rejected seeds feel

ha, love the philosophical thread.... now we go deeper! The rejected seed.... mmm could be a novel in that. How about the seedlings that get thinned out? how must they feel, and how about all that power VC !! Are we magicians or just nurturers? x

Sadly, I too am a therapist. Worrying eh?
