  • Pictures from Chelsea Flower Show

Hope it's ok to post a link to these, I don't make any profit or have any advertising on this link - it's just a link to my Chelsea pics in my Flickr account. Sorry about the watermarks but a lot of pics get stolen from the site to be used elsewhere without peoples permission and I plan to submit a few to a site where I do sell copies of my pictures. I tried to get a few different angles and vies rather than the standard ones that everyone else was taking.

They're fantastic photos, cornflake! It would be hard to choose a favourite! The colours are so vibrant, I felt I could reach out and touch some of the flowers.
    Thank you for sharing them.

They're lovely - and so much more 'human' than the tv cameras. Maybe 'personal' would be a better description.

            Really fab!

Lovely photos. What camera/lens do you use?

              (I've a Nikon d3000, it's idiot-proof)

Thanks for all the lovely comments. I had a difficult choice between 2 lenses - the one I used which is a fixed length (50mm), can throw backgrounds out of focus a lot better and is sharper and works well in low light (it was a pretty bad day weather wise) but restricted to the single length or the other which is a wider angle (17-35) so I can fit a lot more in but at the expense of sharpness and being able to take lower light shots without flash.

I'm glad I chose the 50 - although a few times I wished I could fit into the frame it forced me to come up with better ways to frame shots and look for details rather then just taking big shots of whole gardens which is what everyone else was doing. Hence the more personal look someone mentioned. A couple of times I went round the side of a garden where there was hardly anyone standing and got angles nobody else did. Including one point when I convinced the BBC film crew to move for a second just before they were going to do an interview so I could get a shot

Camera is a Canon 1100d, probably fairly similar to the d3000. Lens was a Canon 50mm f1.8, it's considered outstanding for it's price (around £80).

Stunning pics, thanks for sharing. Love the huge shiny stones at the bottom, simple but beautiful.
