I've taped it to watch. I've had several cats in my time, most of whom caught small mammals (mostly mice from around the stables) or less often, birds, but the laziest hunter I had was a male Burmese cross, who never caught anything as far as I know, except he would climb up into the stable rafters and take the pigeon squabs out of the nest (and eat them). That was about the most effort he was prepared to put into his life. Mostly he could be found next to the Aga, or anywhere else suitably warm - asleep.

eta - and they were fantails and tipplers

We've often talked about how much we'd like to put a camera on our male cat as we know he has a large territory and many, many houses that he goes into during the day. That said, now he's an old man (15 last spring) he doesn't go as far and just frequents his favourites as well as promenading along our front wall every morning and afternoon when the primary school opposite are coming / going as he enjoys the attention of the parents and kids - very funny to watch and he's far better known in our area than we are. Our other cat however would make for very boring viewing, all you'd see would be her bottom as she grooms and the end of the bed / chair as she sleeps, I don't think she ever goes further than our back garden and all our neighbours are convinced we only have 1 cat . Not seen the programme yet but really looking forward to watching it as we've recorded it.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

I was interested in the house at the end. The 6 cats in one household. As I have 7 cats in my house! Want to fit them all with GPS now

I noticed that was the angle they were pushing.

When they put all the prey on the table, it was an average of half a prey per cat, I think? Thereabouts.

However, the chap did say (and it was glossed over very quickly) that for every kill the owners found, another 7 or 8 items were devoured (and were not counted as kills).

If those kills were counted, it's more like 9 kills per cat, which is a LOT.

Hmm looked an interesting programme. Did it show the cat/cats with the over active bottoms that
Poo every day ....sometimes up to 4 piles of it on my allotment? I love the way they bury it in nice mounds so I retch removing it from my tasty veg. Don't folk have litter trays. They only appear clean creatures because they are pooing for England in someone else's garden/ lottie! Yuk.
