The Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice :

    Interview with the Vampire
    The Vampire Lestat
    The Queen of the Damned
The Tale of the Body Thief
    Memnoch the Devil
    Armand
    Merrick
    blood and Gold
    Blackwood Farm
    Blood Cantancle.

Brilliant books once I start one I cant put it down. They all interlink through the series and it is best to read them in order. You can meet a character in book 2 then again in book 7. I even read them over again. Some people might find them a bit strange, but I really enjoy them.

    3 more from Anne Rice

    The Witching Hour
    Lasher
    Taltos.

These are about the Mayfair witches who you also meet in the Vampire Chronicles. Also brilliant. Anne Rice has a fantastic imagination and really draws you into her world. Sorry to harp on but I really love books, you can never have too many in my opinion.

Oh dear - where to start

Anything by Terry Pratchett - seems to be a theme amounst us gardeners
The TimeTravellers Wife - Audry Whateverhernamewas
Douglas Adams - the Hitchhikers series
      Barbara Erskine's books
      The Diana Gabaldon series
Ben Elton's recent stuff - "Dead Famous" especially
Then we get down to about 1 million other fabulous books which are so difficult to prioritise.
And any books on growing veg of course

I was a very luckly little girl as my mum was the librarian in a small branch library so I spent all the hols there reading....(except for the running round the grass area at the back until I went a funny colour and got an exercian headache and had to be told to come inside and calm down) ... ANYWAY it gave me an absolute love of books...so assuming that I am allowed to change my mind a hundred times....

Anything by Terry Pratchet (yep, I know, another one...)
Dark materials trilogy - Philip Pullman
          Anything by Deric Longden

I do rather like the ol' murder mysteries so, Reginald Hill (Dalziel and Pasco) and Colin Dexter (Morse) but DEFO NOT any Agatha Christie and IN PARTICULAR Poirot, who I would happily punch.

Some of Neil Gaimon is excellent, but some is a bit odd.

That's either less than ten, or about 100 depending on your view...

Haven't read through everyone's but see a lot of my faves listed

Jean M Auel's Earth Children series and can't wait for the next one
            Tolkein (except the Silmarillion)
Leigh and David Eddings (singly and together)
            The Harry Potter books
            Robert Jordan
Dick Francis (John Francombe runs a close second here)
            Anne McCaffrey
Dennis Wheatley (love the dark ones)
and I am reading a kids book at the moment which is wonderful and I can't wait to read others by him - Michael Hoeye's 'Time Stops for No Mouse' - good, light hearted, gripping adventure for kids of all ages!!
            Lemony Snickett

            Haven't read any Terry Pratchett....

            Yet

Yup, I like all sorts - can read classics but really read for relaxation so prefer not to go there!

Oh you must read Pratchett shirl - brilliant.
I'm an avid consumer of books and couldn't possibly narrow it to 10.
