Once you've gone down the slippery slope of buying your 1st packet of seeds, you'll be hooked. That little packet of Carrots or Peas with it's lovely picture on the front, boasting ready to eat in 10 wks, they're not lies, it's their way of sucking you in.
Before you know it, you're planning your 1st compost heap and how long before you can create your own, free, great compost to improve your soil. You'll probably get yourself a wall planner to more clearfully plan next yrs veg and thinking you'll hit the ground running next year.
More packets of seeds than could feed the entire third world. Do you get yourself a 3rd freezer to hold all your well grown food. Who of your friends do you offer some veg to.
You might as well sell your retired mower, because the raised beds that pop up for veg appear quicker that the Raddish you will grow within them. 2 ltr pop bottles filled with nettles not to mention the soil i have bought, dear god.... The soil i have bought. I must have bought at least 24 56 litre bags. I bet you can see my little garden from space.
So the second greenhouse,this morning, is lying flat packed in the garden and I've already filled it, bought a second compost bin from the tip for a fiver, that's an art, i now do regular visits to the tip on the way home from work.
You'll spend hours reading on the tinternet, magazines, even buying books. Talk to loads of people about how your tomatoes are doing and will you have potatoes when you dig them up.
So what are you waiting for!!! Open that packet of seeds, tear the little white tinfoil packet and start scattering, take photos, grab a glass of something and make an appointment with a psychiatrist.....so you can tell him all about your hobby :-D
