Not a daft question at all. Not everyone is familiar with this term, even complementary therapists. Usual definition is "a spinning vortex of energy." There are seven major ones roughly depicted as along the spine. Any crystal therapy/reiki/ayurvedic book will give you info.

Or you could have a brief look here.

            Brilliant stories.

I can identify with whoever said they got a feeling of being so heavy they couldnt move.

That used to happen to me in our old house in greenhithe. I'd wake up at night, hear a 'shooshing' noise in my ears and realise that 'it' was on its way. 'It' being a period of only a few seconds where I couldnt move and couldnt talk or anything. Shooshing noise would get louder and louder and then would suddenly stop and I'd be free to move.

Our bookshop in Conwy could be a very spooky place. Smack bang opposite Plas Mawr, a preserved Elizabethan Town House. That place had lots of ghostvstories linked to it, as did Conwy itself. Our shop was in a really old building and as the crow flew stood in between Plas Mawr and the church and churchyard. Beautiful location on a sunny summers day. On a quiet winters late afternon, very eerie place indeed. would break my neck with my legs crossed rather than have to go out the back and upstairs to the loo!

                  strange things

i used to live in ollerton just outside knutsford cheshire.a very small village me and my mate were out setting snares about 9.30 just dropping dark we had to walk past an empy house just set back from the road. as we passed we both felt odd and shone a torch on the house. from an upstares window was a face looking back we were scared daft and ran to his house to tell his mum who said nothing. in the morning she got out a photo album and showd us a picture of a man called joshua baily all sideburns and serius looking. she said he was a local police man years ago. i am coverd in goose bumps eaven now 35 years later typing this out . also about 5 years ago i was drystone walling for a couple who live in an old merchants house in sowerby just outside halifax. both profesional people they told me they had a party and one of the guests was thrown out of a chair by something.he will now not stop in the house if she is away

Terry - what you describe with your uncle is just what happened with me and my dad! He was always there for me until my mum died, then I had a great sense of wellbeing and contentment and he's never been back since. I like to think its because they are together again now.

Keep the stories coming folks ... loving them!
Life may not be the party we hoped for but since we're here we might as well dance

A few months after my dad died in 1996 (I was 16) I was on my own in the house and was getting a bit upset about the whole thing.

Suddenly a photo frame (that had my dads picture in) fell over. I stood it back up, thinking the stand had broken.

It then fell over again, and I checked the whole thing for damage. It was fine, and there was nothing going on that could have made it fall over.

Absolutely convinced it was my dad telling me he was ok.

                        On a slightly funnier note:
When I was younger (about 14) I had to have a general anesthetic at the dentists (had 9 teeth taken at once). I remember coming round in a small room and then struggling with a huge black object. I woke up properly screaming my head off.

I told my mum a ghost or something was trying to take me away, but she explained that the nurse had tried to cover me up with a coat, but I had fought her off!

                        And another thing:
I had the opportunity to have a taster session of Reiki. I was quite skeptical, but thought I'd have a go. The therapist, without touching me, moved her hands to each of my chakras, and was able to tell me about a couple of my ongoing issues/problems in detail, without me telling her anything!

                              I have only two thing:

                              1. I can feel people....Put me in a warehouse or house and I will be able to tell if there is anyone there.

                              2. I can predict accidents. Not that I can stop them or tell exaclty who will be injured but I know something will happen. I just get a feelling. and the Mrs says a look. so much so that she if see sees it she will find the address of here we are to call the ambulance. The last time it happened we were in a restruant on holisay and she called the waiter and asked the full address and dialed 999 and had her thumb on the dial button when the young girl at the nest table pured hot chocolat all over her face and chest. I did the first aid and she got the ambulance...when it was all over the waiter was in my seat as white as a ghost.

I think it is just being tuned in to Mother Earth.
