    • At this point in time it is less of a rant (I'm ranted out) and more of a desperate prayer. Please let a bed become free at the neuro ward and I know I should be grateful as I have read LG's thread but the neurosurgeons want Mr F transferred over but can't get him a bed. So I think the sh@te fairy should b@gger off and let a bed become free. (I'm not slaggng off the NHS as it does a very good job and our neurosurgical unit is one of the best in Europe) but I just want a bed for Mr F.

      • I hate f***ing people who tell you if it was serious you would be seen more often by the specialist. I guess to them being bed bound isn't a big deal but to normal everyday people it is a huge deal.

          • Withheld numbers ! Asking you about the 'car accident' that you haven't had, in the hope that you have, and they can 'claim' in your behalf, no wonder our premiums are going up. And as their number is 'withheld' you can't complain, about their cold calling and bothering you!

              • You are obviously more patient that me. I find them extremely irritating, almost as bad the 'automated' ones that are silent for a while, and also the calls where they only want to talk to the 'account holder',they are only wanting to sell us extra stuff that we don't want, and won't talk to me.

                • I have a field day with the private medical insurance ones, I can go on for ages about my pre existing conditions both real and imaginary. It usualy turns out that I have almost every disease known to man apart from housemaids knee, and I might even have a touch of that.
What does alarm me is that some of them have an awful lot of information about me. I have been telephoned by people from India who are gushing with pleasantries asking me "How are you this morning" and "How they hope the weather is nice" then wanting to know my Mothers maiden name! before they will talk to me. So i say, "well, before I can talk to you I need to know YOUR date of birth and mothers maiden name".
These people have to make sales, and wasting their time is your ultimate weapon.

                  • If a number us withheld or unavailable, I don't answer, I have a little button on the phone to mute it. Likewise, if I dint recognise a number, tap on the mute button. I have an answering machine if they have anything to say, and they don't.

Ditto. And if you do answer it, your number is then proved to be viable and can be sold on as a goer to yet more purveyors of nuisance calls.

My rant. Rain. We've had one day without this month and now it's snowing just on the hill above us and I haven't picked all the chillies yet.

                      • I see your point Bill, but my time is precious too, and I can't be bothered? In the past when you used to people ringing about double glazing, I was tempted to book an appointment fir them to come, spend hours measuring up, and then say politely ' no thanks'. Kind of feel sorry for them it's a hard way to make a living.
