Why do young people these days not have the courtesy to thank you, for a birthday gift, we now send vouchers to nephews nieces, at Xmas and birthday, we are all on FB, email etc, so whilst not expecting a handwritten letter as I would have been made to write as a child, a simple 'electronic message' would be appreciated. I just think they are ungrateful and rude.

My sisters childrens children (Not sure what that makes them) failed two years running to thank us for our birthday and Christmas gifts to them. So we stopped sending them. Job done.
These are my husband's sisters children, 5 of them, 13-21, the eldest has sent message, he's saving to go to South America next year, so grateful. I will wait till end of week, then send FB message asking if voucher etc received, if hear nothing then will FBmessage dad, and ask him, that should be enough of a dig. But does upset me really. Xmas next month, becomes v expensive.
To the nasty lowlife who walks his aggressive staffy in the park and uses foul language because there is a group of us - 6 with 6 dogs - letting ours play off lead so he couldn't let his off lead. He needs to know he doesn't own the park and it is his fault he needs to keep his dog on a muzzle and on lead most of the time.
The overwhelming reaction of my parents, sister, brother and outlaws, when you gently tell them that you have an incurable degenerative disease;
Oh well, we're still coming for Christmas, you'll manage....
But you're supposed to look after us in our old age....
So you won't be going back to organising the fairs, who's fairs will sell at now?
Who's going to cover the shop?
It can't be that bad, you look ok to me....
My kids are shocked but they've all been sweet. No, I'm not dying, I aim to be an absolutely disgraceful, rude ol' biddy. Of course I'll still be able make your dress and give you away - I'm fine! Should you come home from Uni? No, love, but thanks. I'm going to be here a bl**dy long while yet!

OH not allowed to drive at the moment, so I offered to take him and his pal for their regular Thursday night pint (they take it in turns to drive). He has just given me detailed instructions about what I will need to drive in these conditions - heated rear screen, maybe a scraper and some de-icer etc, etc! I have been driving for 40 bl**dy years! Where are you when I get up every day in the winter to go to work and have to scrape the car, use the de-icer etc? In bl**dy bed! Arrrrggghhhhhh!
Automatic windows stopped working when the sun came out, then the fan for the aircon, then the blinkers...off to autoelectrician who couldn't find a reason they stopped working, but they all started again, but he noticed an oil leak, and the mechanic said hopefully it's under warranty still Merry Christmas indeed.
Some days it's hardly worth chewing through the restraints!
One bit of old folklore wisdom says to plant tomatoes when the soil is warm enough to sit on with bare buttocks. In surburban areas, use the back of your wrist. Jackie French

On our Citroen Piccaso the heater blower and air con all packed up about three years ago. i was told it would cost about £300 to fix, It was so expensive and I couldnt go without the car so we did without it for a year, then amzingly it all started working again! and still is. This is a shining example of the fact that poverty and idolness pay off in the long run.
Me. Not writing the essay question down where I could see it, and relying on my patently rubbish memory. Now done all the reading and notes based on a question with half of it missing *sigh* Waste of a whole week of study
