    • Young men - if you're going to go in a shop, put your bloody top on. I do not want to see your bare, blotchy, sweaty, sunburnt, tattooed torso anywhere near where I am buying food.

And girls - look in the mirror before you go out - people are not staring with admiration at you just-covered body, they are looking aghast at your muffin top and inappropriately tight clothing. The phase 'let it all hang out' has never been more appropriate.

      Yuk.

        • People who volunteer then are complete and utter obnoxious twonks all day. If you can't hack it, then stay at home watching your stupid daytime tv rubbish or even better, stay at work and you can have your macshiteburgers as and when you want them. Twonkers.

            • I have done the weekly shop. Please don't text me to tell me what else we need when you could have written it on the list which has been in the kitchen all week. Second text to say 5 members of the family are now coming to a barbecue on Sunday rather than the original 2. I told you when I was shopping, I did not include them in my numbers. Thanks I can go shopping again, for a barbecue for my birthday which I get to shop for, and cook and probably clear up. Great. Looking forward to it immensely.

              • Having just had a bereavement last week, my dad which was naturally just awful. I was in his house today and got a very frightening phone call from an Indian guy who proceeded to tell me that he'd had a lot of reports about my dads computer that it's been hacked into etc etc got me in such a panic I started following some instructions which he said would stop the problem on my dads computer. I know it sounds ridiculously gullible but dad didn't have any security on his computer plus I'm just in a hopeless state of mind. Also at home we don't have a landline therefore never get those sort of phone calls. Luckily my much wiser older brother rushed in and grabbed the phone and halted it just in time.

I've since discovered its a worldwide scam, you're talked into downloading something which enables the scammers to jam your computer until you've paid them a lot of money. Seemingly there are loads of them making these calls constantly and even wise people have been caught out. The computer's switched off now. But next time I get any kind of call like that i'm hanging up immediately!

                • People who just can't hack their grown up kids being something they weren't expecting and treating said kids so astonishingly badly that it takes my breath away...just glad said grown up kid is resilient and mature and its a wonder how they turned out so amazingly fantastic as adults. And yes, you are idiots for your inability to accept the grown up kid, as they have finally now had the nail in the coffin and its you that will miss out on being in this amazing person's life.

Those scammers are scum. I've had those calls several times. I just say I don't have a computer and play dumb. Their script can't quite cope with that

                      • My OH's lovely mum passed away on Monday in Cyprus. His passport is out of date. He needs to rush to Cyprus for funeral. We phone the passport office tell them what's happened and why we need a rush passport. They tell us to prove it. They Need a headed paper English written fax from a funeral company proving the death. This is a Greek speaking small village up a mountain. No such thing as a funeral director. No one speaks much English never mind writes it. Headed paper? Fax? Old father in law who's grief stricken and trying to help. They finally after 4 hours on phone Made us an appt in Glasgow but told us we'd have to wait two days in which case he's miss his flight in Birmingham the only one available to get him there in time. Finally got appt in Durham got passport. He Flies Saturday for the funeral which has now been changed to Monday. I know people lie about people dying for their own selfish reasons I know procedures have to be followed. But so much red tape when you are trying to explain a situation without crying. What an awful week

                              So sorry, Ancee.
I'm ranting for you and all the hassle you've been through. Its not as if it was your OH's first passport - just a reissue - you would think that would be straightforward

They'll be in the compost bin. Well they usually are when I lose mine!

Rant - the logistics of death should run more smoothly, after all it isn't exactly unusual.
                                Hugs to Ancee and Verinda.
