  • My minor rant above ( re new boiler) has turned into a possible 'major rant', as insurance company are not going to fund almost whole cost of new one, just the cost of the 'part', had it still been available, it isn't ! Etc etc . Meanwhile good thing it's summer, and not winter, good old kettle has become a thing of beauty, and is being well used!

Having just started a business, we can't get a mortgage, but even the rental market is nuts!

                  • Th0ms0n & M0rg@n (again). I spent my apology vouchers last week and made the order up to £60 with seeds to save on P&P. They sent some seeds today in one envelope. They sent a letter in a separate envelope explaining that they had reviewed their catalogue and some stuff wasn't available any more. The seeds that were missing had a catalogue value of £1.99, I've been refunded £0.53. They have obviously got some app that has calculated the exact proportion of my vouchers that goes against that pack which I find a bit petty. I'm only amazed that I've not been asked for the P&P now my order isn't over £60. Also peeved to find Kabuki calabrese no longer available as it over wintered really well for an early spring crop.

                      • Neighbour has died after a long illness.
                        This is horribly sad.

And then I get really angry when I hear a*sey neighbour across from here reply very loudly to his grandkid's question of 'where are you grandad' with 'I'm dead upstairs' - they've never got on but that's just vile.

                        • this isn't a minor rant any more, it's been going on for a week now.

Vodafone offered himself an iPad for "£2 a month".

I said no way, check the small print: an invoice appeared: £26 a month. A total "rental" of £624, for an item that costs £430 online

Himself bought himself a Mac last month (£1800). The next week, Vodafone offered him an iPad for "£2 a month".

I said no way, check the small print. He didn't, but changed the sum to "it's £6 a month after VAT and that" (VAT would be about 40p, not £4, but I left it for a quiet life).

The thing arrived. I still smelt a rat, and said how are they making money off you at £6 a month? He denied signing a contract, but when I said I'd ring them myself, an invoice appeared.

And now it's my fault, because he was perfectly happy believing it was £2 a month !!!
It has to be said, "OMG" - makes living with bagpipes look tame.

                            • OK I've been told about another house you didn't deliver a leaflet to.
Am really hacked off cos this person is really really annoyed that they didn't get a leaflet and quite rightly so.
                              You annoying person you.
What makes it worse is I know you don't like this person, but you wouldn't have had to have any contact with them anyway so why not just deliver all the leaflets like you offered.

Who else didn't you bother with?
