  • Being ill whilst on annual leave from work. It's just hit me. What a waste. I'm ranting so I must be feeling better. Over to the WMYH Thread then.

        Glad you're feeling better.

        • The woman that stood shouting and swearing at her two year old in the street at 1230 today - expand your vocabulary and speak to him properly. Also don't wake me up when I am nights and managed to sleep in for the first time this week past 10am grrr (tired and very grumpy)

          • Irresponsible parents , can't believe it, they are all drinking wine, having an 'adult' birthday party, in the back of the house and their little children are out playing on scooters, skateboards in the road, in the front, totally oblivious to the fact it's a road and a car park etc, some are little tots, 2 yrs max.

Maybe I'm just getting old and and grumpy, but I can't bear to watch !

Thanks Martin, sorry to chat on this thread, but just to let you know that I do know I could have claimed sick leave, but in line with our Policy I should have reported my sickness at the time, I can't (and wouldn't) report it retrospectively. My choice to keep my sickness record "clean" really. I'll book another period of leave in September/October I think

              • People who text you at 9pm, asking to be collected from the airport at 1.30am and taken home. The same people had already said they'd get a taxi because the flight is so late. And then they ask you to cover their shop for an extra day because their flight gets in so late and they'll be tired.

But we're going to be in bed much later than you because we have another fifteen minutes drive after dropping you off?

                • The poor dog up the road is barking again. It is 10 houses away and I can hear it, glad I'm not in the adjoining semi. I've never seen it walked and when the family go out they shut in in the hallway. Our house is the same design, the hall is not even two square metres.

                  • My neighbour's barking, yelping, whining spaniels are doing my nut in.
She eventually calls them indoors, then just lets them out again 10 mins later. I've never seen them taken for a walk, and she never tells them off for barking (or attempt to train them not to).

I can hear them with my windows shut (in this heat!) and over the radio

Yes love, you just take my glass of wine and park yourself in front of the PS. I will cook your dinner, and they boys and, whilst I'm juggling so many things, I will ask you for help and not get any because you are on the playstation. So my own dinner will get ruined. But that's ok because you're doing so well on the playstation. Here's your dinner - did you taste any of it? nope, but that's ok because it's refuelled you so you can go back on the playstation. Dishes? noooo, I'll do them - you play on the playstation.

It's not as if I need any help. Or any supper. Not that you noticed.
I'm thinking the plug needs to accidentally fall off, or the controllers take themselves off for a walk.
