Yep seems the letter stating she is one of two is a complete lie to say the least it's actually really bad and it seems a few people on my wife's Facebook already know about it!!!

I didn't really like to say when I saw the thread firstly. Three of our children had this done. We went through the editing the proof etc, and then when it was in the book, we had to pay £20 plus postage to get them each a copy....because you're just mean & nasty parents otherwise, aren't you? And, even after editing the proof, they didn't get the DD's poem right - the spelling mistake meant that her poem was completely senseless. The poems were printed in different books for each year group too, so we had to buy three.

When it came to The Boy we were wiser. We showed him the other three's books and explained and he was danged mad and told his teacher so. I think it's completely wrong, as a practice, and should be stopped - and there was no recession when we went through it. There are going to be parents out there who are pressured to buy books they can ill afford.

To be honest I don't care that its a scam yes it's awful and I will not be paying for the book but the certificate will be hung on my daughters wall and she will still feel as though she has achieved something pushing her to strive for more fuelled by her own motivation there is always a positive and I'm sure it will give my other two children something to work harder for!

That happened to us although the school notified us the same day that it was a scam.
Though like you, it's taken proud place on his wall!
