    Mind you, if I tried to tie a thread round my brother's wrist in exchange for protection/money/gifts, I'm not sure if he'd go for it!

    What do you do if you only have sisters, HH - do you have a handy store of cousins to call on?

    Yeah, hefty stash! Plus there is pops, my mums brother, dad's brother in law and my grandad in the most immediate sense. Whilst we do get dosh, have come realise that there is the sentiment that matters. Particularly when it comes to family politics. There are some cousins, from whom I wish I could recant the rakhi. Besides one year, us three girls 'as a joke' Rakhi''d each other. Cue pointer sisters, and we are family being sung.

    Right, I need to get ready. Bit more culture me for this evening. RSC Stratford upon Avon for 'as you like it'. Gone a bit crazy, and decided to reclaim my life. Going to see the Scottish play, a live relay of Richard II and would rather like to see hamlet.

    But first to shower and then straighten one's hair.

    • Very cultural, HH - have a lovely time!

      Here's the window;

      'Scuse the murk - it's between the glass in the window because the hermetic seal doesn't. I think I need finer ribbons on the bits & bobs, but otherwise it looks ok. Just hope it doesn't come crashing down in the middle of the night!

      Pulled all the muscles in my tummy today, so I'm on heavy duty painkillers as recommended by the GP. Mein Gott, does it hurt. Wish I could stop sneezing

      Put the kettle on, someone.....can't have any alcomafrol.

          Nice one, Jules. Can't scrutinise the ribbons closely enough on your pic, but I think that organza ribbon would be a good alternative, as it's quite see-through?

          What on earth were you doing to pull your stomach muscles to that extent??

          • Hazel - You're a genius, organza - perfect! I've used 1cm wide cream satin on most of the things, but it's too much I think.

            Ermmmm......don't ask about the tummy muscles. Best not on a family forum.....

                • I've broken the shower today and the toilet, then I fell on the garden. Flat on my front. I think I tripped over the hosepipe. Grazed my elbow, but luckily didn't break anything. Going down was dead easy, it was the getting up that was the hard part. Might be a bit stiff tomorrow. Felt daft even though nobody saw me. They say it comes in threes!

                        • It looks very quirky VC. The top of the cistern is off and the flush is on the end of a long piece of wire. Himself says I must only push the white bit. It'll be fun finding out if I can break it again. There will also be a farce in the morning when I have to have a bath before work (if I ever get there - I can get in ok, but it's the getting out), might have to get the hosepipe out again Off to get into my PJs, at least that's easy and the brandy bottle (for medicinal purposes only) is even easier. See you all tomorrow, have a good evening
