Phew!! Its so hot out there - 24 in the shade - but I'm not complaining
Sorry about the rain some of you have had - we had it overnight
No time for coffi - have a load of brambles to clear up

Afternoon the days stayed nice up to yet so we've been out bird watching plus a wonder around the charity shops. Too hot for coffee thanks Jules I've got water instead and congrats to your lad on his results.

Afternoon all,

Had a drama making blackberry jam. Boiled it too long; some it set like concrete

Cheered myself up by making more chilli jam. This time with more purple chillies-very prolific- and loads more green ones. Two sweet peppers too, and it's lovely. Different shade of red.

Evening All, congrats to your lad Jules. Our eldest Golden Girl is truly a Golden Girl today, she has fabulous results too. A card and a present is on its way to her in the post as a surprise. Middle Golden Girl has also had some excellent results from her mocks, so I've sent her a well done card too, but no present. Hope she's not too disappointed, but she'll get the treat next year when she does it for real.

I'm sure MGG will understand, Flo. Ma does much the same with ours. The Boy has had double the glory this month with his AS Level results last week - and he's only 16. I think he's glad to get it over & done with, it was a heavy load. He's only doing the three A Levels at College.

So, that's my baby officially finished with school Where does time go?

Hi Trip Funny how we smell the seasons - but I know exactly what you mean. Autumn is slightly smoky, with a hint of chill ; Winter is nippy, bites the back of your nose. Spring is warm, light and flowery and summer is thick and heavy. These are my versions anyway
I'd be interested to hear how the seasons smell to everyone else
