Evening all... Really notice the evenings shortening now... Twas dark here shortly after nine tonight...
So had to come in and now watching a Tinkerbell movie with the girls..... And a glass of red...
I dream of a better tomorrow, where chickens can cross the road and not be questioned about their motives....
The Curious Incident of the Slug in the Night
Go outside with the dogs, in my clogs.
Come inside, kick off shoes and step straight onto a slug.
Give a squeal, shake foot and slug skids off across the floor.
Along comes dog and steps on slug.
Pick up dog and give her a shake
Slug falls off on to my foot.
Give another squeal.
Fling open back door and shake my foot until slug falls off.
Shut and bolt door hastily.
Give foot a good scrub and I'm off to bed.
Goodnight All - sleep well

Naff off, Bren - if you hog the nighttime stuff, you can have the day shift too!

DD has just phoned to say she will be over shortly. I'm really not happy about this, but it must be done. It goes against my organic principles but it's now this or dead chickens, so principles have to be pushed aside. I have to find something to cover my raspberry canes to stop the mist hitting them, too. I've told DD she must use as little as possible - I'm very worried about run off soaking in to the garden. In all the (nearly) thirteen years we've been here I've never used chemicals in my garden or chook house. I am <--> this far away from tears this morning.
I have also got the most stinking headache - tension, I think.
I was using it, every week. It hasn't touched them. I've gone through a 25kg sack of the stuff this year. It usually takes me years to get through one of those. We've used the steamer cleaner, the pressure washer, vaseline (that's standard weekly kit) and we still have them. We have reached tether's end. I would get a new shed for the girls but I can't afford it - I think this one needs burning. The little s*ds seem to thrive in this humidity, like botrytis.
Right, better get my old togs on, DD will be here soon.

Coffee. Garden. Coffee. Does a good morning need anything else?

Morning all - good luck Jules, I am sure all will go well.
We had our rain last night, although it looks none too promising here at the moment. I am just putting off getting dressed and attacking the garage (no it is not occupied by ninjas) for a major clear out. Another one! We did all of this in October and in March and now again! Stuff in the garage breeds when you are not looking. Also need to make another batch of runner bean chutney and have a go at some cucumber pickle. So, ought to get my s*** together as the old hippies used to say.
Happy Saturday!! I've been so busy procrastinating that I haven't found time to say Hello ..................HELLO
Not raining here but quite cool. Please keep it for a while longer, Rusty
Have a Soooooooooooooooper day All. I'm going to be busy - thinking what not to do next
