G'Mooooooooooooornin Peeps - sunny here again. Hope you're all well!? I'm going to catch up on some paperwork. Although as it's all internet-based, I need a new word... Admin, maybe?
Coffee?

Oooh Susie - you're coming to Cardiff - where some of the nutty nuts can be found I presume you're members of Cadw or English Heritage so you can have free admission to most of the castles. If not, its worth joining at the start to get your money's worth.
With a bit of effort I can walk to the castles at Caerphilly, Castell Coch and, of course Cardiff and there are 2 mottes within a mile of the house.
Enjoy your visit and let us know where you go and what you think. Hope the sun shines for you
Thanks VC and LD for the kind thoughts. Yes, we are members of English Heritage, so we got into Kidwelly and Chepstow for nothing (!!) but we had to pay at Pembroke because it is in private ownership. The weather was fab. We have been to all three castles before but it was a while ago and so you forget the detail. We stayed in Cardiff quite near the Bay and yesterday morning walked down there to have a look around. We went into the Assembly building and a very nice young man offered to show us into the actual debating chamber (even though it was technically closed for maintenance) - so interesting and he was delightful. Fantastic piece of architecture. Then we went to Chepstow Castle on the way home ... another piece of fantastic architecture, just much, much older!
We've been to Caerphilly before - lovely place - so unusual with its concentric moat arrangement. I'm afraid we are medieval castle and abbey anoraks. Don't get me started.
When I got home I found that my neighbour had watered my greenhouse for me (without me even asking!) - so kind of her. A giant cucumber is going her way. The sun is shining here, in a sort of half-hearted way, but it is quite breezy too. I've got to go to the dentist this afternoon for a scrape and jet wash. Arrgghhhh!
So glad you enjoyed your visit, Susie, and the sun shone for you!! We can go to the Assembly building and watch the debates - open government in action - I'd rather watch the gulls down the Bay. Did you see the Millenium Centre, next door - always reminds me of a copper woodlouse
Kidwelly castle is within a few miles of my other little place! I like Kidwelly with its old town walls and the river running at its feet. ......I'm a castle addict too, ever since I was a nipper. Had a job once that entailed visiting all the Cadw monuments - would have been wonderful if I hadn't had to work as well.
Where are you off to next?
Good luck at the dentists
Morning All....can't-make-up-it's-mind sort of weather today.
Nice not to have to shop-sit, handed everything back yesterday safe & sound. Outlaws had a good holiday - they went with the BH's youngest sister, husband and two children. These are people who are always crying about their poorness (SinL will happily spend £400 on a cardigan, poor, poor, woman) but they are staying on the Greek island for another 27 days.......poor them
Anyway....have caught up on all the housework and pottered around the garden, tidying and deadheading. Just need to get out there with the lawn mower and also sort out the pond filter - clogged again. Lost my poorly honeysuckle after all - might replace it with another grapevine next year - shame really as it flowered so well this year and smelt beautiful.
Going to (finally) hang my driftwood branch today! The living room window is finally going Dutch!

Ooooooh, I've just been out and poo-picked the lawn, and noticed the Peach tree is FULL of fruit - there were about four fruit last year - and the Jaspers got three of them. Now I know you can ripen them yourself - they ain't gettin' a look-in - there's at least twenty peaches out there!!
