You just reminded me, I bought a lotty hat. Don't wear it though, they always give me a headache.
It's a man's one, cos I has a big head (shut up at the back) and blue to match my shed

My lottie hat is essential too, fair skinned and a migraine suffer. However I couldn't have a straw one as it has to go in the wash at regular intervals. Don't think my class noticed when I wore it at school earlier in the week that it was a bit muddy!Comment

I have to wear a hat in the sun and heat, but generally go for a baseball cap (what? at your age?! Yes!)
To keep extra cool, sprinkle the crown of your hat with water - as the water evaporates it will cool the air inside the crown - bliss!

Here's my hat - bought in the north of Thailand and handpainted by a man without legs, who earned a living by painting hats and other things. I asked him for flowers and butterflies and this is the result. I don't often wear it as I like it for its memories, not for its usefulness.
I only wear a hat if I'm out in the sun for a long time - like walking or on a boat. They annoy me too much to wear in the garden

I always wear a hat outside - fleece, baseball or pink, floppy sun hat depending on the weather. It's such a habbit now I feel odd without one!
