Please keep us posted and take pictures of your progress. I am so enjoying the threads on the allotments and all of the blogs....I can't believe all the hard work you do to get those allotments....I have never had one but I think here in the USA they are called community gardens...Congrats on your good fortune...pictures please.

Without sounding ageist...... Is a full allotment not a bit too much to be thinking about taking over at 84 years old?

          ROFL!

I was of course being a bit extreme... though thinking about it, my 90 year old neighbour would be most annoyed at that statement!

It does feel like I will be 90 by the time it comes around. Or maybe I just feel 90 due to last nights gin???

I'll pop down tomorrow and take a picture of my new plot then I'll update it when I get a bit more work done. I took the hubby down yesterday and he said he would really really help me, then in the next sentence said 'but I do work full time', I replied 'arrrrr, not at the weekends though my lovely!' I've got a really ramshakled old shed about the size of a shoe box, 3 rhubarbs and a totally wild and overgrown blackberry.
Ooooo, pea sticks Lesley - bet they come keen!! Do they leave nice green lines on the offender? :/

Peter, I'm sorry if I offended you and you were pointing out the wildlife to be found on an overgrown allotment, it's me, I'm a dirty little germinator with my mind in the bottom of the compost bin, can you forgive me, purleeeese? I don't think for one minute you would be rude - would you?! Mmmmmm.

Actually, I was born in Ruddington, grew up in Keyworth, lived in West Bridgford for 10 years then moved here to Cotgrave 5 years ago but hoping to move again this year, hopefully to a small holding but it's a pretty slim chance! It's a wee bit out of our price range, you never know though!!

Hi again Eden it was my wife(Madderbat) who took over our allotment but it's now me who spends most time there. But I have the time beeing unemployed.
Don't rush things it will take "time" to get your plot how you want it.
Look at it as a long term project. It don't have to be all done today.
Only one bit of advice keep on top of the weeds there is nothing more daunting
if they get out of control.
P.S. I used to live in Gedling!
P.P.S. I have left a small part of my lottie "overgrown" ( and I have a small pond) for the wild life.
